About Counseling Services:

Nutrition In Balance offers a variety of services to help you meet your nutrition-related goals. Whether it’s to lose weight, improve your health or manage chronic disease through diet, Samantha will work with you to create a customized nutrition program that meets your needs and your lifestyle. Taking a holistic or “whole person” approach, allows Samantha to help you think about food in the context of your life, and consider what else might be going on that is preventing you from reaching your goals.

Some areas of nutrition expertise include:

  • Weight loss and weight maintenance
  • Food allergy management
  • Specialty Diets (Vegetarian and Vegan)
  • Disease prevention
  • Digestive wellness
  • Nutrition for kids
  • Sports nutrition
  • Pre-Wedding Nutrition and Wellness

Samantha understands that changing your diet is not easy, and it’s not something that can be done overnight. While she does offer one-time services, for most people, she recommends multiple sessions to provide the extra individualized attention, support and accountability that is crucial to achieving lasting results. For this reason, Samantha has created different packages (i.e. 2, 4 or 6 sessions) for clients that are prepared to make a longer-term commitment. Contact her to discuss which package might be right for you.

Initial Consultation/Nutrition Consultation

The initial intake session consists of obtaining important information from you. Samantha will not only gather information on your eating habits and preferences, but she will also ask more wide-ranging questions about areas other areas of your life. Expect questions about your sleep habits, stress levels and she will even want to know what the inside of your refrigerator looks like! All of these things are important considerations for her when she is forming your plan. Together, you will come up with short term and long-term goals. Preliminary nutrition education will be provided during this visit.

Follow-Up Visits

From there, the follow-up visits are a time for you to “check-in” and discuss how you are doing. These are important opportunities to assess progress, discuss what is working and what is not, and adjust the plan as needed. Having scheduled follow-up visits helps with accountability as well. The visits are all about you, with Samantha providing the support and motivation needed. The amount of follow-up visits may vary from individual to individual depending on their needs.
